History
Mayer Bulk was established as HM Industrial Design & Equipment Pty Ltd (HMIDE) in 1986 by Hans Mayer and his son, Helmut.
Hans had been chief engineer for PHB-Weserhutte Pty Ltd and it was his extensive technical expertise on which the company was founded. Having specialised in the design of bulk materials handling systems since 1968, Hans had over 50 machine designs and many successful inspection and emergency repair jobs to his credit. His experience encompassed most forms of mobile machinery including bucket wheel reclaimers, portal reclaimers, bridge reclaimers, luffing stackers, rail mounted and crawler mounted stackers and spreaders, ship loaders, unloaders, container and other cranes.
Following Hans’ retirement from active engineering activities, Helmut, who has degrees in engineering and psychology, became the company’s Executive Director.
To gear the company for the next stage of its growth, Helmut and his team evolved a new corporate strategy which included the recruitment of a larger team of engineers, project managers and the development of significant training processes.
